The Crimson Twist Fizz (or another take on Ranch Water!)

Ingredients (for 2 cocktails):

  • 4 strawberries
  • 4 sprigs mint
  • 1 lime
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
  • 46oz Topo Chico (or other fizzy seltzer water)
  • optional: salted rim, lime wedge

Step-by-Step Prep:

  1. Release the Flavors: Drop the strawberries and mint leaves into the bottom of a highball glass. Use a cocktail muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to press down and thoroughly mash them together until the juices are completely released.

  2. Chill the Glass: Pack the glass all the way to the rim with fresh ice.

  3. Build the Liquid Base: Pour the tequila directly over the ice, followed by the freshly squeezed lime juice.

  4. Add the Effervescence: Fill the remainder of the glass to the top with Topo Chico or seltzer water. Give it a brief, gentle swirl with a long spoon to incorporate the muddled fruit from the bottom without losing the carbonation.
